The University of Jordan/ Aqaba branch and Aqaba Development Corporation (ADC) on Wednesday sealed a cooperation agreement. Under the agreement ADC will establish a Video Conferencing center at the branch. The agreement was signed by UJ president Prof. Ekhleif Tarawneh and ADC CEO Eng. Ghassan Ghanem in presence of the president of the University of Jordan in Aqaba Prof. Musa Al lozi. Upon signing the agreement, Tarawneh priced support provided by the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA) and its developmental arm ADC for higher education and health sectors in Aqaba. Tarawneh also commended the responsibility it assumes toward the University of Jordan in Aqaba. In turn, Ghanem said the agreement keeps up with the company's goals towards community development and providing local community members with the necessary skills that qualify them to build their own future. Ghanem stressed that supporting education is one of the most important objectives of the corporation. From his part, Al Lozi pointed to the importance of establishing a Video Conference facility to connect the branch with the mother university in Amman and to utilize it for postgraduate distance-learning. Al Lozi explained that it also serves the local community by providing access to modern educational tools.
