A memorandum of understanding was signed on Thursday between The University of Jordan in Aqaba (UJ Aqaba) and Pravo Academy to cooperate in the field of training. The MoU was signed by UJ Vice President, President of UJ Aqaba, Prof. Musa Al Lozi and Pravo Academy General Manager, Mrs. Nisreen Al Disi. In addition to activating the partnership with specialized institutions of the public and private sectors, the purpose of the MoU is to serve the training needs of the southern provinces. Under the MoU, the Academy will provide training courses and diplomas in areas of management, financial sciences, engineering, information technology and others to university staff and local community members.
UJ president, Prof. Ekhleif Tarawneh on Wednesday commenced a two-day visit to The University of Jordan’s branch in Aqaba (UJ Aqaba) . During the visit, Tarawneh met with the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA) Chief Commissioner Hani Al Mulki and discussed further prospects for supporting UJ’s branch in Aqaba. Also, Tarawneh stressed that the university seeks to expand educational programs to provide man power that fit the various needs of the city. From his part, Al Mulki expressed ASEZA’s willingness to harness all its potentials to support UJ Aqaba. Al Mulki also expressed the authority’s readiness to sponsor local outstanding students. Moreover, Tarawneh visited the Ayla Oasis Development Company in Aqaba and met with the company’s CEO Sahl Dudin. Tarawneh discussed with Dudin promoting joint cooperation, commending the company’s support for the branch to establish a language lab and mend the university stadium. Furthermore, UJ Aqaba and Aqaba Development Corporation (ADC) signed a cooperation agreement to establish a Video Conferencing facility at the branch.
The Faculty of Arts at The University of Jordan today announced the establishment of a fund to support students with disabilities. This came during an charity bazaar and exhibition organized by the faculty and was inaugurated by UJ Vice President for Training and Community Service, Prof. Musa Al Lozi. According to the faculty’s dean, Prof. Abatah Daher, the fund aims to support the educational needs of students with disabilities, achieve social justice for this group of students and prepare them to enter the labor market. print
