1. Welcoming new students, providing them with all necessary support, conducting orientation tours of the university campus, and familiarizing them with the available services.
2. Issuing student ID cards: Issuing ID cards was a challenge for the department, as the process was paper-based, requiring students to fill out a form with their information and attach a personal photograph. These forms were then sent to the University of Jordan/Amman for issuance. Later, the forms were converted to electronic forms, and recently, the department began producing smart ID cards for students in cooperation with the Computer Center and Cairo Amman Bank.
3. Supervision of Student Housing: Due to the lack of on-campus student housing, the university rented accommodation to accommodate as many female students as possible coming from outside Aqaba. A building in the Al-Shamiya area was rented at the beginning of the 2014/2015 academic year, with a capacity of over 50 students. Qualified supervisors were appointed to oversee the students, and transportation to and from the university was provided. Because the building was far from city services, the university decided to rent an alternative building for female students in the Sixth District, a more vibrant area. This building has a capacity of 30 students, and the students moved in in June 2016. The building remains rented.
4. Yearbook Publication: The Student Services Department used to send photos of graduating and soon-to-be-graduating students on CDs to the University of Jordan/Amman for yearbook publication. Now, the department enters the photos using specialized software. Additionally, a link was created for students during the COVID-19 pandemic to upload their own photos according to specific requirements.
5. Connecting Students with the Job Market: The Student Services Division collaborates with various institutions and companies in Aqaba to provide employment opportunities for students, both graduates and current students. Many students have been placed in jobs within the tourism sector and other companies.
6. Participation in Activities: The Student Services Division works alongside the Student Activities Division in student-led activities such as student union and club elections, and organizing annual graduation ceremonies.
