The University of Jordan/Aqaba branch held a special welcoming ceremony for New Students under the patronage of the Vice President/President of Aqaba Branch, Prof. Nazeeh Al-Btoush and in the presence of deans of colleges and the Student Union Council.

In his speech, Prof. Al-Btoush expressed his delight in welcoming New Students, emphasizing that they constitute the foundation of the university's bright future. The president highlighted the role played by the university in building minds, improving the students' skills, and helping them in establishing a positive mindset that will eventually impact upon the growth of the society. He also noted that students should appreciate the university regulations, understand their rights and duties but also excel in academic achievement. On a different note, the president expressed his thanks to the Student Union Council for organizing this event in a way that reflected the spirit of commitment and constant collaboration with the administration.

From his part, the President of the Student Union Council, Muhammad Al-Osaili, expressed his wishes for new students to have a happy university life full of success and good luck, expressing his thanks to the administration for its continuous support. The event included various entertainment segments including a show of videos that highlighted the history of the Aqaba Branch, its achievements since the establishment, and some of the current facilities.

Towards the end, the Student Union Council presented Prof. Al-Btoush with an honorary shield to express their gratitude for his support in enhancing the role of students and tireless efforts in establishing a prosperous educational environment​
