2024-10-29T21:00:00ZCelebrating the Silver Jubilee: Opening of the Arabic Calligraphy Exhibition at the Aqaba Branch of the University of JordanCelebrating the Silver Jubilee of His Majesty King Abdullah II assuming his constitutional powers, the Arabic Calligraphy Exhibition of the artist Yasser Al-Jaraba was opened at Aqaba Branch of the University of Jordan, along with an exhibition of books published by the Ministry of Culture. The exhibition was organized by the Director of Culture in Aqaba, Mr. Tariq Al-Badour, in the presence of the representative of the Vice President, Dr. Muhammad Al-Maharmeh. Mr. Al-Bdour confirmed that this event comes within the framework of promoting arts and cultural heritage in the Kingdom through presenting a number of wonderful paintings which reflect the beauty of Arabic calligraphy. The exhibition also included writing workshops for the public as an opportunity to get involved in the experience first hand. Dr. Al-Maharmeh stressed the importance of this exhibition, saying that: “This event represents a celebration of the art of Arabic calligraphy, which is an essential part of our cultural identity. We are trying to revive our heritage and the spirit of creativity in our society, under the wise leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II." The exhibition demonstrates the commitment of the Ministry of Culture to empowering local arts and offering artists with enough opportunities to show their creativity.
