The Business School welcomes new students

As part of the vision to strengthen the relationship between new students and faculty members, the Business School at the Aqaba Branch of the University of Jordan organized a welcoming session for the new students. The session was attended by the Dean of the School and Head of the Business Administration Department/Dr. Mohammad Al-Maharmeh, the Chair of the Accounting Department/Dr. Omar Al-Hawatmeh, as well as faculty members.

The session began with a welcoming speech by Dr. Al-Maharmeh, who highlighted the idea that students' choice of the School of Business is more than just an academic decision, but rather an important step towards a professional future full of opportunities. He pointed out that the Business School provides a stimulating academic environment through providing the necessary support and guidance to develop the students' academic and personal skills.

Dr. Al-Maharmeh spoke about the various academic programs offered by the school, which aim to provide students with the tools and knowledge necessary to face the challenges of the current era, and excel in the local and international labor market. He stressed the importance of engaging in student activities, noting that the university is not just about classrooms, but an integrated life experience that contributes to personal and professional growth.

Dr. Omar Al-Hawatmeh also explained the importance of academic advising as an essential procedure of the academic experience, stressing that continuous communication with faculty members is crucial to ensure that students understand the requirements of academic programs. Dr. Al-Hawatmeh urged new students not to hesitate to ask any questions related to lessons or curricula, as well as to offer their suggestions on how to improve the academic environment. Additionally, he pointed out that faculty members are available to support students in various aspects of their educational experience, from guiding them in choosing study materials to helping them develop their research and writing skills. At the end of the session, Dr. Al-Maharmeh sketched out the new grading system, explaining its advantages and related instructions, and highlighting the school's commitment to providing a distinguished educational experience for new students.​
