2024-12-10T21:00:00ZWomen in the Labour Market: Reality and Challenges’, a scientific day at the College of Law.Under the patronage of His Excellency Prof. Dr. Nazeeh Al-Btoush, Vice President/President of the Aqaba Branch, represented by the Dean of the College of Law, Dr. Tawfiq Al-Majali, the College of Law held a scientific day on the theme 'Women in the Labor Market: Reality and Challenges'. The event hosted a number of prominent women from the local community including Her Excellency Judge Hala Al-Thnaibat, representing His Excellency the President of the Aqaba Court House; Ms. Hanan Al-Kafaween from the Jordanian Women's Solidarity Association; Ms. Munira Al-Sharaideh, representing the Aqaba Labor Directorate; and human rights activist and lawyer Ms. Ola Abu Hlai'il. The scientific day addressed several topics, including the two major themes of the event 'Women in Legal Work: Achievements and Opportunities for Improvement', and 'Women in Community Work: Achievements and Opportunities for Improvement'. The event also discussed the challenges facing women in the labour market and how to handle them properly, in addition to reviewing the opportunities available to improve women's status in various sectors. The participant brought up ideas on the role of women in achieving sustainable development, as women contribute significantly to many social and economic fields. Discussions also revolved around how women have proven their ability to excel and innovate in community work, making themselves a key partner in achieving progress and growth. The scientific day also highlighted the importance of empowering women in various sectors such as education, judiciary, health, voluntary work, academia, leadership, as well as enhancing women's effective role in building strong and prosperous societies. The scientific day was attended by the Deans of Colleges, faculty members, as well as a remarkable number of students who interacted by raising many questions and inquiries related to the discussed topics; something that added to the constructive and rich dialogue about the role of women in the labour market and the challenges they face.
