2025-01-19T21:00:00ZThe Aqaba Branch Celebrates the International Tree DayUnder the patronage of the Vice President/President of the Aqaba Branch, Professor Nazeeh Al-Btoush, the university celebrated the International Tree Day, with a remarkable attendance of faculty members, administrative staff and students. This event, as part of the university's commitment to preserving the environment and promoting environmental awareness, was organized and coordinated by the Gardens and Cleaning Division of the Technical and Support Services Department. The celebration began with a speech by Professor Al-Btoush, who welcomed the attendees and showed appreciation for their efforts on this important day. He also extended his thanks to all those in charge of organizing this celebration of the International Tree Day, highlighting the importance of preserving the environment and developing green spaces within the university campus.During the event, Surah Al-Fatihah (The Opening of the Book) was recited honouring the soul of the late colleague Ra’ad Al-Huwaitat, who worked tirelessly and diligently at the Gardens Division. The area where Mr. Al-Huwaitat (may Allah have mercy on him) worked was also allocated for planting fruit trees. The event also was a chance to carry out some agricultural work such as pruning trees, planting seedlings, weeding the land, and checking irrigation networks to ensure their efficiency. This activity comes within the efforts of the Aqaba Branch to contribute to preserving natural resources and encouraging environmental sustainability.
