The Admission and Registration Unit was established with the emergence of the university in 1962 and administratively remained part of the Deanship of Student Affairs. As a result of the expansion that was witnessed by the university, particularly on the field of accepting large numbers of students; it was separated in 1978 from the Deanship of Student Affairs and became a separate administrative unit. It is currently considered one of the most important units at the university.
